Are you ready to apply for DJFT?

Nine quick questions, about two minutes. You'll see what's done, what's still open and where to read more. At the end you can ask for help with the rest.

Do you have Japanese nationality?

This route is for Japanese nationals. US citizens have their own treaty route (DAFT) with the same rules.

Is your Japanese passport valid for the whole application period?
Have you chosen a business structure?

Most applicants start as a sole proprietorship (eenmanszaak); some choose a BV.

Do you have at least €4,500 of your own money for the business?

It has to be your own capital. Borrowed money doesn't count, because the business then also owes it.

Is your business registered with the KVK (Chamber of Commerce)?
Do you have a Dutch business bank account with the €4,500 in it?
Do you have an opening balance sheet that shows the €4,500 as equity?

A bank statement shows a balance, not equity. The opening balance sheet is the document that proves the investment.

Have you looked at the paperwork in Japan (overseas residence registration, tax representative, pension)?
When would you like to apply?
